Peanut Jaggery Ladoo

Peanut jaggery laddoos is a 2 ingredients, easy to make the recipe. It has a preparation time of 5 minutes and a cooking time of 10 minutes.​

A usual Bisi bele bhath dish with an extra taste by adding few crystals of Jaggery. This gives additional taste and flavor to the dish.

Raagi Cocnut Ladoo is a healthy snack with Jaggery as a sweet

Raagi Coconut Ladoo

Serving size: 10-12 ladoos

Ingredients:

  • Around 1 cup or 160 gms of peanuts

  • 1/3 cup jaggery, powdered, chopped or grated

 

Recipe:

  1. Roast peanut while they become crunchy on a thick bottomed pan or oven. Roast well to prevent hardness

  2. Let the peanuts cool down after roasting

  3. Rub the peanuts in your palm to let their skin peel off

  4. Grind the peanuts and the jaggery for a few seconds in a grinder-mixer and stop. Repeat till a coarse constitution is obtained.

  5. Take the mixture in a plate, and create medium sized ladoos with your palms

  6. Make 10-12 ladoos, and store them in an air tight jar

  7. Ladoos can be stored at room temperature if you reside at a cool or humid place

  8. Serve the ladoos as a sweet snack

 

The ladoos last for a week at room temperature and 15-20 days in the fridge.

For preparing Bisi Bele Bhath, rice, vegetables, and toor dal are used. 

 

The dish derives its sweetness from jaggery, but it is the blend of spices and jaggery that yields a distinctive taste for the preparation. 

 

The sourness of Bisi Bele Bhath comes from tamarind water. Coriander leaves are used for garnishing the dish.

  • Around 1 cup or 150 gms of ragi flour

  • 1/3 cup of powdered jaggery

  • Chopped, or grated coconut

 

While coconuts are everyone’s perennial favorites, raagi is exceedingly good for health.

 

Raagi coconut ladoos are hence frequently listed as among the most nutritious Indian snacks. It is frequently in South India that ragi coconut ladoos are made.

 

Jaggery and coconut are mixed with ragi flour, in desi ghee, and some dry fruits are added for the preparation.
